We createD a rescue to help the underdogs

Happy Tails Happy Homes launched in 2011 when two long-term animal rescuers and advocates, Vicki Niles and Nicki Larson, joined forces to create a rescue that took in the underdogs. Too many times in their experience working with different organizations they saw animals with medical or behavioral needs turned away. Happy Tails Happy Homes works hard to take in specifically the ones who need us most. The dogs who are overlooked by others and need a second chance. They may cost more financially for behavior and medical needs, they may spend more time in our rescue while we wait for the perfect adopter, or they may even end up being forever fosters who we care for their whole lives, but we stand by our dogs. Our moto is:

“Once a Happy Tails Happy Home Dog, always a Happy Tails Happy Homes Dog.”

We work with all breeds and ages, and a variety of behavior and medical needs. Every dollar we earn goes directly to the animas. Running a rescue is hard work. The reality is we cannot help every dog we want due to limited financial resources, behaviors accepted by our insurance, and the number of foster homes we have available. However, every member of our rescue, from our fosters to our volunteers to our Board of Directors, works hard day and night to save as many lives as we can. We will continue to advocate for those without a voice.

Every dog deserves LOVE      Every dog deserves RESPECT

Every dog deserves a SECOND CHANCE.
